Eurol Syntence LV 0W-20 is a PAO-based long-life engine oil formulated to meet VW 508.00/509.00, for Volkswagen, Audi, Škoda and SEAT engines requiring that specification. It suits petrol, diesel, LPG and CNG applications and delivers at least 4% fuel saving against a 15W-40 reference. Supplied in 210-litre drums.
Which engines require VW 508.00/509.00
Developed for the newer VW Group low-viscosity engines — the EA888 Gen III 2.0 TFSI 140 kW, the 1.5 TSI 96/110 kW and the EA897 Gen I 3.0 TDI CR 160 kW among them.
It is not backward compatible. An engine specified for an earlier VW standard must not be filled with this oil. That restriction is stated by the manufacturer, not inferred.
What PAO base oil buys you
Poly-alpha-olefin is a fully synthetic base stock with low volatility. In practice that means less oil consumed between services and better stability under the mixed highway-and-city duty cycle these engines see.
Approval status
VW 508.00/509.00 approval as forthcoming, and notes the product may become applicable to Porsche C20.
