Bridgehill Lithium Fire Blanket Large — 10 × 13 ft

The Lithium Large is the 3 × 4 m version of Bridgehill's battery containment blanket, for full vehicle battery packs and large hazardous modules rather than bench-scale objects. Same silicon dioxide core construction as the S, sized to cover a complete pack and reach ground level.

When the S is not enough

A removed vehicle battery pack is roughly the footprint of the vehicle's floor. The 1.8 × 1.8 m S covers a module; it does not cover a pack.

The size question is the ground-seal question. Containment works when the blanket reaches the floor on every side, trapping gases and smoke rather than venting them into the room. Over a full pack, only the Large does that.

Where a workshop holds packs out of vehicles — a recycling line, a battery repair bay, a manufacturer's test area — the Large is the working size and the S is the accessory.

The two-layer method, at pack scale

The same layering logic applies. The S goes on first, directly against the failing module, and the Large goes over the whole assembly and down to the ground.

Operations that hold high-value packs generally stock both: the S because the failure starts in one module, the Large because what has to be contained is everything around it.

What the certifications cover, stated precisely

Core fabric tested to EN ISO 1182 and EN ISO 1716, classified EN 13501-1 Class A1, with surface and volume resistivity per ASTM D257.

As with the S, these are core-fabric classifications, not a system-level rating for a given battery chemistry. Nothing on this page should be read as a certified containment time for a specific pack.
