Bridgehill Extreme Series Small — 4.9 × 4.9 ft equipment fire blanket

The Extreme Series Small is a 1.5 × 1.5 m six-layer blanket for high-risk equipment and battery environments — workshops, battery facilities, commercial kitchens and manufacturing sites. An integrated metal chain around the edge pulls it down for a tighter ground seal. It blocks small fires, including lithium battery fires.

What the metal chain actually does

Most fire blankets fail at the edge. Heat rises, the fabric lifts, air gets underneath, and containment is lost at the exact moment it is needed.

The Extreme Series carries a weighted chain sewn into the edge. The weight holds the perimeter against the floor or the equipment surface as the fire tries to lift it. It is a small piece of engineering that decides whether the blanket seals or merely covers.

On an uneven surface — a workshop floor, a machine housing — this is the difference.

Six layers, and what each is for

Construction is two layers of Pyroxene fabric and four layers of coating.

Pyroxene is the mineral core that survives the peak temperature. The coatings do the rest of the work: managing the surface against direct flame, holding the assembly together as it heats, and keeping the fabric flexible enough to be thrown accurately by one person under pressure.

A single-layer blanket rated to the same peak temperature is not the same product. Layer count is what determines whether the blanket survives deployment intact.

Where a small blanket beats a large one

Reach for this size where the risk is an object, not a vehicle: a charging bench, a battery under test, a machine, a fryer, a rack of tools.

Three reasons a small blanket wins here. It can be deployed by one person in seconds. It can be stored at the point of risk instead of on a wall across the room. And it will not over-cover a bench object in a way that makes it harder to place accurately.

Certification

Rated to EN ISO 1182, EN ISO 1716, EN 13501-1 A1, ASTM D257 and NFPA 701-2019.

One note worth making plainly: NFPA 701 is a textile flame-propagation test. It measures how a fabric behaves when exposed to flame. It is not an EV or battery containment standard and should not be read as one. The relevant classification here is EN 13501-1 A1 on the core material.

Small at 1.5 × 1.5 m, plus medium and large. Choose by the largest object you need to seal to the ground, not by the average — the blanket that fits the typical case will not fit the one that matters.
